Improving education in our community is the first step to ensuring lasting prosperity for our children. My kids proudly attend the Ada Public Schools, just like I did and my father did before me. I am committed to improving education for all our students by supporting teachers and keeping local control. We must prepare our students for college, the workforce and the future by giving them the excellent education they deserve.
I believe Oklahoma students and parents need choice in curriculum. Forcing all students into college prep classes has failed many of our kids. It creates a lack of skilled workers who could make good money if they were offered the proper vocational education and life skills training in high school.
Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are unalienable rights. They are bestowed upon us not by man but by our Creator. I am proudly pro-life and will always vote to protect the unborn.
Whether working in the formal ministry or in hospice care, much of my professional life has been spent helping senior citizens. I will be a strong advocate to ensure that all seniors are treated with proper care, dignity and respect. I will push (1) for a real crackdown on senior citizen scammers, (2) to end the tax on medical necessities like hearing aides, and (3) to eliminate property tax increases for those on fixed incomes/retirees.
As a member of the State Water Quality Management Advisory Council, I know water is vital to our future. I am committed to a combined effort of conservation and water infrastructure investments – within the means of the state budget and without new taxes. I will protect our water – for today and future generations.
As a member of the National Rifle Association, I will always stand up to any attempt at restricting the personal liberties granted to us by God. This means upholding the entire Bill of Rights – especially the Right to Bear Arms.
